Today we're talking all about female cycle tracking and natural family planning with expert Holly Grigg-Spall, author of Sweetening the Pill: Or How We Got Hooked on Birth Control.

We're diving into the truth about hormonal birth control, how to take your fertility into your own hands, and how doing so can help you both prevent pregnancy or get pregnant, while improving your overall health.

Around the world, the postpartum period is considered to be a sacred and special time during which a mother is born, as well as her baby.

Many cultures have special practices and customs that serve to recognize and honor this special time, and women aren’t expected to “bounce back” or jump right back into their usual lives.

In the US though, we have a long way to go, which is why I’m sopassionate about sharing the practical, quick tips that I personally found to be the most helpful or surprising, to help you feel more prepared for postpartum.

My hope is that these tips will help you set realistic, healthy expectations for what your postpartum recovery and transition period should look like (otherwise known as the 4th trimester!) so you can prepare in advance to take good care of both your baby, andyourself.

In this episode I’m joined by Sarah Clark, a certified life and health coach, author Fabulously Fertile, the Fabulously Fertile Cookbook, and the Fertility Preparation Program, and host of the Get Pregnant Naturally podcast.

We are digging deep into the topic of women’s fertility and discussing how women can take a natural, holistic approach in healing and preparing their bodies for healthy pregnancy.

When Sarah Clark was 28 years old, she received a diagnosis of premature ovarian failure, accepted this diagnosis and had both her children through in vitro fertilization.

Years later she realized the root cause of her infertility was a food intolerance, which has led to her passion for educating and supporting couples in getting functional lab testing and making diet and lifestyle changes that can dramatically improve the chances of a healthy pregnancy and baby by reversing infertility.

I hope this episode will be a great, value-packed resource and really encourage you wherever you’re at in your fertility journey.

This super quick episode is to announce a brand new podcast series called Health Tips for Tired Moms that I’m excited to dive into throughout the rest of this season.

After having a conversation with a tired mama friend about her desire to learn how to better care for and support her post-baby body, I decided to start this new series to help support all of my tired mama listeners on your health journeys.

It's hard work being pregnant and taking care of little ones and your family while trying to sift through health information to find answers to your questions. My hope is that this series will be an encouraging place for you to find the answers you’re looking for.

Every day we use products in our homes and on our bodies that often contain hundredsof chemicals that can have really negative effects on our health.

In today's episode I'm joined by my friend Kate Doubler, a busy mom of three, nurse and the author behind the blog Real Food RN to discuss really practical ways to create a healthy, natural home from the inside out.

Kate loves experimenting in her kitchen and coming up with all sorts of new and creative real food, cleaning and personal care recipes in the hopes of bettering the health of her family and anyone who follows her blog.

She wholeheartedly believes that prevention is the best medicine and her mission is to help everyone find the path to living the best, healthiest life possible!
